The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) brings the profession together to advocate for sustainable solutions to national health care challenges. Physician leadership from across the country is critical to drive that reform — now more than ever.

In 2025-26, a physician from New Brunswick will serve as CMA president.

We worked with the New Brunswick Medical Society to promote this opportunity and enable members of all backgrounds and experiences to put forward their candidacy. It’s important that the CMA’s leadership reflects the diversity of the medical profession and the communities we serve.

Members in New Brunswick have chosen Dr. Margot Burnell as the CMA’s next president-elect, subject to General Council ratification at the CMA’s Annual General Meeting in May 2024.
