Taking responsibility for our history
This month, the CMA will take an important step on its journey of reconciliation. At a public ceremony in Victoria, BC, on the traditional territory of the lək̓ʷəŋiʔnəŋ (Lekwungen) speaking people of Songhees and Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) Nations, we will apologize for our role, and the role of the medical profession, in past and ongoing harms to First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples in the health system. Find details on the event and a link to the livestream at cma.ca/apology.
