Resident Doctors of Canada (RDoC) is the new name for the former Canadian Association of Internes and Residents (CAIR).
The Ottawa-based association announced its new name during Resident Awareness Week, Feb. 16–20.
In making the announcement, RDoC President Dr. Christina Nowik stated the name change was made after months of consultations and reflects changes in how the association will represent residents in Canada in a field that is constantly evolving.
Nowik also introduced
a new website for the organization, to serve as “a hub of information on emerging residency issues.”
She noted: “Our name and visual brand are just some of the ways we’re refreshing our approach to providing a national voice for Canada’s resident doctors.”
CMA President Chris Simpson congratulated Nowik and the association on the updaterebranding. . “Canada’s residents have always had excellent representation from their association, and I know these changes will help to further cement that strong support.”
