CMA 150th Anniversary Bursaries and Awards Program
The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2017. As part of the celebrations, the newly created CMA 150th Anniversary Bursaries and Awards program builds on the CMA legacy of contributing to a strong and meaningful future for the medical community.
Over the next five years, more than 170 students from Canada’s 17 medical schools will benefit from these bursaries and awards. The program will celebrate the values of the medical profession and will help alleviate some of the financial challenges faced by many Canadian medical students.
The CMA Foundation will provide the annual funding: each school will receive $8,500 in bursary money and $15,000 for one award. The foundation will run the program in partnership with the schools.
CMA 150th Anniversary Bursaries
The bursaries provide financial assistance to the students who need it most.
CMA 150th Anniversary Awards
The awards recognize student leaders who demonstrate the values of professionalism, including honesty, integrity, respect, responsibility, accountability, collaboration and commitment to self-improvement.
