DynaMed – a leading point-of-care clinical support tool available to Canadian Medical Association members – now has a new app available.
The new mobile app which can be installed on up to three separate Apple or Android devices now offers streamlined registration with quick signup to DynaMed through cma.ca.
The app offers an improved user experience with access to point-of-care information offline and the ability to bookmark favourites, email topics and save notes about particular topics.
Members who were already using the DynaMed app are invited to download the new app. If members were using the Skyscape or Omnio apps to access DynaMed they do not have to uninstall those apps to download or use the new DynaMed app. However, those apps will no longer be updated with the latest DynaMed content, so it is recommended that they use the new DynaMed app.
DynaMed continues to draw praise from CMA members who use it regularly.
“DynaMed’s new mobile app gives me rapid access to excellent clinical evidence summaries to help my patients, on the go and at the point of care,” says Dr. Doug Kavanagh, a Toronto family physician.
DynaMed is available as a benefit of CMA membership – a $395 value for a one year subscription to both the app and online versions. The tool provides more than 3,400 topic summaries and new information is monitored through a systematic literature review which is updated daily in collaboration with McMaster University’s Health Information Research Unit.
Use of DynaMed meets the accreditation criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada for 0.5 Mainpro-M1 credits and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for MOC (Section 2) program credits for each topic reviewed (in online version only).
