HR Coordinator

Overall job purpose:

Reporting to the HR and Talent Advisor, the main purpose of this position is to provide effective administrative and coordination support for the various areas within Human Resources (talent acquisition, learning and development, program office, and general administration).

Key responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition support:

  • Coordinates recruitment activities (job postings, advertising, interviews and employment packages)
  • Coordinates employee onboarding and offboarding activities with managers and IT
  • Provides support in developing and enhancing CMA's online orientation program and related processes
  • Administers the Employee Referral Program (tracking and monitoring referrals and bonus payments)
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date position profiles

Learning and Development support:

  • Assists in planning, coordinating and promoting all training and development sessions to staff and leaders (including the CMA Professional Development Day)
  • Coordinates 360-degree leadership assessment meetings as required
  • Provides support in developing the summer student engagement program

Program Office support:

  • Processes accurate and timely employment transactions (new hires, promotions, transfers, etc.)
  • Adds/deactivates accounts on HR systems
  • Trains new employees on HR tools
  • Assists with the coordination and promotion of the Rewards and Recognition program
  • Administers a variety of annual employee programs such as: vacation purchase plan, regulatory compliance policy training, overtime agreements, and statutory holiday schedules
  • Coordinates various employee events such as Take Your Kids to Work, socially responsible activities, etc.

General Administration:

  • Updates HR content on Verve
  • Coordinates in memoriam flowers and/or donations
  • Coordinates the maternity/parental leave programs
  • Updates organizational charts
  • Maintains electronic employee files
  • Manages the HR CMA inbox
  • Coordinates translation of HR content
  • Assists with adhoc reporting required
  • Supports other HR projects as required

  • College diploma or certification
  • Human Resources field of study preferred (HRM certification from community college)


  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working in Human Resources preferred, and experience with an HRMS system (such as ADP).
