Internet prescribing

Internet-based (and other online) forms of communication between physicians and patients require additional safeguards. Of special concern are issues related to privacy, confidentiality, the nature of the doctor-patient relationship, liability and fraud. Before prescribing a medication, in most cases physicians should have established a doctor-patient relationship.
