The CMA is addressing new challenges in health care

The CMA is driving big change, advocating on issues like seniors care, cannabis, opioids and small business tax reform so that Canadians can receive the best care possible.

The CMA is building connections across the medical community to create a more vibrant medical profession

  • Through our inaugural CMA Health Summit in August, we’re supporting physician-led dialogue on important health issues, with a wide audience of innovators, thought leaders, patients and policy-makers.
  • Through our new patient engagement body, the CMA Patient Voice , we’re leveraging the unique experiences, insights, expertise and perspectives of patients and their families to improve health care.
  • Through our Communities of Interest, we’re bringing together physicians, physicians-in-training and others to engage in meaningful dialogue on shared issues.
  • Through our medical professionalism work, we’re developing a more modern understanding of what it means to be a doctor today based around three pillars: physician to physician, physician to patient, and physician to the health care system.
  • Through our work on physician health and wellness, we’ll be co-hosting the International Conference on Physician Health to help physicians and system leaders push for change for a healthier profession.
  • Through the CMA Foundation, we’re providing impactful donations to Canadian charities that further excellence in health and health care.
