Policies and research
The CMA has produced a number of policies and research papers on a wide variety of issues concerning Canadian physicians, population health and the health care system.
CMA policy can be found in three forms:
Policy documents provide background and summaries of key topics.
Resolutions are directives dealing with advocacy issues, passed by General Council or the board of directors.
Submissions to government (briefs) are presentations to committees of both the House of Commons and the Senate.
The CMA PolicyBase is a fully searchable database containing all current CMA policy, including resolutions, documents and submissions to government.
The PTMA PolicyBase is a fully searchable database containing current policy documents submitted by the Canadian Provincial and Territorial medical associations (PTMAs).
