Survived by his wife Joan, 3 children and 5 grandchildren. “After serving on destroyer escorts and at the Shearwater air base in Nova Scotia, he trained in ophthalmology in Philadelphia at the American Naval Hospital and Wills Eye Hospital. On his return to Canada he was posted to the National Defence Medical Centre in Ottawa as a practising ophthalmologist. In 1974 he opened a private practice office in Ottawa. He was on staff at the Grace General Hospital, where he also served as chief of ophthalmology.”
