Canadian Medical Association

Aurora, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1949; internal medicine. Died Jan. 8, 2018, aged 91. Survived by his wife Beverly, 4 children and 6 grandchildren. “Murray was a pioneer in preventive medicine in Toronto. As president of IMPCO Health Screening, later Laurentian Health, he spread the gospel of physical fitness, smoking abstinence and moderation in diet long before it became mainstream. His many patients confessed to enjoying their appointments in spite of his good-natured lectures about healthy living. His humour and genuine compassion extended to everyone he met, and to countless CFRB Radio listeners who heard his colourful weekly health and fitness commentaries.”
