Died Sept. 1, 2017, aged 79. “Jim graduated from UBC in electrical engineering in 1961 and worked as a communications engineer in Montréal until entering UBC medical school in 1964. He completed his internship in 1969 and joined the medical staff at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver in 1973. He remained there as head of biomedical engineering until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of both the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.”
