Kamloops, BC; McGill University, 1947; psychiatry. Died Feb. 24, 2017, aged 97. Survived by 9 children, 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. "Doug was the first psychiatrist in BC's Interior. His practice included working with both adults and children, and he believed strongly in treating patients where they could be close to their families. He established 1-South, the psychiatric unit at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, and he continued to practise there until retiring in 1987."
