Survived by 3 children and 4 grandchildren. “He emigrated to Canada in 1956, first serving as an intern in St. John’s and then as a resident in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montréal. He joined the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps in 1960 as a consultant obstetrician and gynecologist, with postings in Iserlohn, West Germany, and Whitehorse. Following a period of teaching and research at the University of Alberta, the family settled in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., where Michael felt privileged to practise medicine for more than 50 years.”
