“The Joule Innovation grant program has opened doors that would never have been opened for me otherwise. The funding provided by Joule is only a small portion of the entire support they have given me.” - Dr. Don Burke, recipient

As part of its commitment to drive health change, the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is urging members to apply for a Joule Innovation grant.

Now in its fifth year, the grant program has increased its funding to $500,000 to support nine physicians and medical learners working on initiatives that impact patients and physicians directly.

The grant categories include:

  • Physician health and wellness
  • Access to care
  • Sustainable health care
  • Health care solutions

There is also a grant category to support emerging physician innovators.

These categories reflect the CMA’s commitment to drive change in these areas, and to support health innovations led by physicians, residents and medical students.

The call for applications closes on March 24, 2020 at midnight.
