The Task Force on the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) is seeking nominations for membership on the new CMAJ Governance Council to be launched later this year. The role of the Governance Council is to steward and promote the overall well-being and integrity of CMAJ, including editorial independence.

Four positions are open: Peer Editor, a Practicing Clinician (CMA member), an Academic Physician (CMA member), and a Scholarly Publishing Expert with financial expertise.

The ten-member Governance Council will also include representatives from the CMA Board, the Joule™ Board and the CMAJ Editorial Advisory Board. The CMAJ Editor-in-Chief, the Publisher and the Joule CEO will participate as ex officio members. The Governance Council reports to the Joule Board.

Responsibilities of the Governance Council include ensuring that CMAJ's strategy and business objectives are aligned with the journal's mission, vision and values.

The Task Force on CMAJ is accepting nominations until July 28, 2017. Please send your resume with a cover letter explaining why you would like to be a member of the Governance Council to [email protected].
