Key statement

Father and husband who began participating in health advocacy and advisory work because of a family member’s mental health needs and advised provincial leaders on adolescent mental health needs for eight years.

Lived experience

Advocate as a caregiver and as a person with several chronic conditions and recent acute care needs who has personally experienced several touchpoints with the health care system.

Key areas of interest in advocacy

Mental health and wellness. Physical, technological and information accessibility. Patient engagement in research and policy development and reform.

What I hope to bring to the Patient Voice

The use of humor to help retain a positive attitude while being in an advisory role.  Also bring a host of good connections from involvement in many patient-partnered projects at the community, provincial and national levels.
