Virtual peer support
Wellness Connection sessions provide a virtual, safe space where physicians and medical learners can gather to discuss shared experiences, get support, seek advice and help each other.
These virtual peer support sessions are available each week to all physicians and learners in Canada. Sessions are led by trained facilitators and cover a range of topics and themes to address critical needs and emerging strategies to support physicians and learners.
"The Wellness Connection provides useful and easy access to support, connecting me with peers who are going through similar challenges."

Moderated by Dr. Daniela Isfan
From memory consolidation and cognitive function to immune system support, sleep plays a pivotal role in our lives. Yet, stress, anxiety and lifestyle habits can affect the quality of the rest we’re getting.
In this session, the first part in a new series, we explore the challenges of achieving proper rest with a special look at shift and on call work. We’ll present a strategy for getting better sleep, share an overview of chronotypes and tips on aligning your lifestyle to your particular sleep-wake patterns, and cover some tools for managing your energy when on call.

Have you been thinking of leaving medicine? Have you considered changing how you practise or reducing your hours? What would that look like?
This peer support session will offer a chance to share your thoughts, feelings, frustrations, hopes and plans while navigating a career in or outside of medicine.
