Effect of a Professional Coaching Intervention on the Well-being and Distress of Physicians

This article from JAMA explores the impact that individualized coaching has on the overall well-being of physicians, including burnout, quality of life, resilience, job satisfaction and engagement. The effects were studied in physicians who attended six coaching sessions that were facilitated by a professional coach. Results showed that the participants experienced a reduction in emotional exhaustion and burnout as well as improvements in their quality of life and resilience.
