Patients, Pride, and Prejudice: Exploring Black Ontarian Physicians’ Experiences of Racism and Discrimination

Experiences of racism among Black physicians and trainees are not well documented in Canada. This article reports on the racism experienced by Black Ontarian physicians to challenge the claim that racism is rare in Canadian health care. The researchers conducted an anonymous online survey of physicians and trainees who self-identified as Black to identify negative discrimination experiences.
