Suffering in silence: Mental health stigma and physicians' licensing fears

This article examines physician’s reluctance to seek treatment for mental health issues. It notes that the reluctance may begin as early as college and medical school. It also looks at the causes, which include stigma about mental illness within the medical community, fears of professional discrimination and concerns about obtaining a medical license following disclosure of mental health diagnoses.
