Canadian Medical Association

Halifax; Queen’s University Belfast (Northern Ireland), 1957; former major, Royal Army Medical Corps. Died Nov. 23, 2017, aged 83. Survived by his wife Hilda, 4 children and 4 grandchildren. “He and the family moved to Canada in 1972 and settled in Fredericton, where he practised, for many years on the staff at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. In the latter years of his professional life he specialized in the treatment and management of chronic pain, becoming a widely acknowledged expert in the field. [Outside of work] he was an active member of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society, in which he not only performed on stage in leading roles, but also worked behind the scenes, directing a number of productions himself. Many will remember him from those days, and he will be missed by far many more than those of his immediate family.”
