Burnout, resilience and moral injury: How the wicked problems of health care defy solutions, yet require innovative strategies in the modern era

Physician burnout is an issue that not only affects physicians themselves, it also affects patient care, health care costs and the longevity of the health care system. Health care institutions play a crucial role in the development of burnout. To develop innovative strategies to address the wicked problem of burnout in physicians, both the individual and institutional levels need to be considered.
