CMAH 2018 Inc. Board of Directors

Dr. Carruthers spent most of his career practising orthopedic surgery at The Ottawa Hospital, where he served as chief of staff for 10 years. He is presently chair of the board of directors at the Mach-Gaensslen Foundation and is past chair of the Carleton University and Ottawa International Airport Authority boards.

Dr. Naylor is a professor of medicine at the University of Toronto, and former dean of medicine and president of the institution. He currently serves as a member of the editorial oversight committee of the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Mr. Scott has many years of executive-level experience in law, financial services and academia. He became the first-ever chair and CEO of McCarthy Tétrault in 2002, and was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario in 2011.

Dr. Sridhar is the medical director of the Sleep Disorders Program and consultant in respiratory medicine for the Saskatchewan Health Authority. He is the current representative for Saskatchewan on the CMA Board of Directors and is also chair of the CMA’s Audit and Finance Committee.

Ms. Tory is retired as a partner from Ernst & Young LLP, where she led their health care and not-for-profit industry groups. She currently serves on many boards, including Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, MaRS Discovery District and George Brown College.

Dr. White is a recently retired family physician from Nova Scotia who worked as a mental health general practitioner and chronic pain physician. She is the former district chief of staff of the Cumberland Health Authority, which provides health care services in the northern-most part of Nova Scotia.

Tim Smith has been the Canadian Medical Association’s (CMA’s) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since 2015. In March 2019, he also became CEO of the CMA Group of Companies, including CEO of CMAH 2018, and CEO of CMA Investco Inc.
