Canadian Medical Association

The CMA believes physicians and medical learners should be supported as people as well as professionals. Explore the links below for tailored information on mental health and wellness, professional development and other resources.

Professional development

We provide a suite of learning resources and accredited continuing professional development for physicians in a broad range of subjects.

Ambassador Program

The CMA Ambassador Program supports the next generation of medical leaders by engaging Canada’s newest physicians and physicians-in-training in discussions about emerging health issues, medical technologies and service models.

Physician Wellness Hub

Our Wellness Hub provides reliable tools and resources to empower physicians, medical learners, leaders and educators.

CMAJ group

The CMAJ group produces a range of peer-reviewed publications in support of physicians and the medical profession.

The CMA develops evidence-based reports on important issues to Canadian physicians.

For medical learners

CaRMS prep

The CaRMS Interview Prep Program is a free CMA offering that gives medical students the opportunity to practise interview skills and learn from residents.

Backpack program

Every year, CMA hands out colourful backpacks during orientation to help medical students recognize and connect with each other on campus and abroad.

Specialty profiles

Our specialty profiles provide an overview of Canadian physicians’ practices, including workload, income and levels of career satisfaction, as well as information on educational requirements, supply and demographics.

Alternate providers for clinical tools and services

The CMA no longer includes clinical tools and services as part of CMA membership. Alternate providers of clinical resources are available.
