In the 2024 CaRMS match, 75 family medicine residency spots were left vacant. While that’s down from previous years (it was 100 in 2023 and 99 the year before), it’s a critical gap in a country where over 6.5 million people do not have access to a regular family doctor and social media continues to propagate health mis- and disinformation.
