Queer, Indigenous mother, caregiver and partner. Mental health advocate and consultant with experience in coordinating and providing front-line services in the non-profit sector and health policy development. 

Lived experience

Person who has experienced mental illness, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), osteoarthritis and trauma. Person who has accessed both rural and urban health care services for both acute and chronic care.

Key areas of interest in advocacy

Perinatal mental health. The negative impact of weight bias in the medical system. The 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Indigenous Peoples. Meaningful engagement of people with lived and living experience in health policy efforts (development, implementation and evaluation).

What I hope to bring to the Patient Voice

Insight and understanding into the unique needs of young people navigating health care systems. Personal and professional experience in ways to mitigate barriers to access and promote healing from a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed lens.
