Accepting our responsibility: A blueprint for physician leadership in transforming Canada's health care system

This white paper aims to create dialogue and energy around the topic of physician engagement and leadership in the Canadian health care system. It provides recommendations for stimulating structural, cultural, political and personal change—to improve physician leadership at all levels and make physicians true partners in efforts to achieve meaningful, large-scale change. Its three parts cover the challenges of reforming health care in Canada; the challenges of growing responsible medical leadership; and suggested actions at the local, regional, provincial and national levels.
